Numidia was a country a loooong time ago, like when your great-great-great-great-great grandparents were alive. It was in a place that we now call North Africa, kind of near where countries like Algeria and Libya are. The people who lived in Numidia were called Numidians and they had their own language and culture.
Numidia was a pretty important place because it had a lot of resources that people wanted, like animals and plants that were used for medicine and food. Other countries nearby tried to take control of Numidia because of these resources. The Numidians had to fight to keep their land and sometimes they sided with one powerful country over another to try to stay safe.
Eventually, Numidia was taken over by the Roman Empire. The Romans changed many things about how Numidia was run and the Numidians had to adapt to these changes. Some Numidians even became part of the Roman army and fought for the Empire. Over time, the Numidians and their culture became mixed with the Romans' way of doing things. Today there are no more Numidians as a separate people, but we can still learn about their history and their contributions to the world.
