Nuraghi

Nuraghi are big rocks stacked on top of each other like a tower that was built a long, long time ago in a country called Italy. People built these nuraghi thousands of years ago, before they had machines or technology to help them. They used their hands and hard work to pile big rocks on top of each other until they made a tall tower.

Nuraghi were used in many different ways. Some people used them as homes where they lived, while other people used them as forts to protect themselves from bad guys. There were also nuraghi that were used as places to store food like grain or to keep animals like sheep and goats.

Nuraghi were made to last a very long time. People used strong rocks like basalt or granite to build them, which are really hard and can stand up to tough weather. Today, some nuraghi can still be seen in Italy and are important historical sites. People can learn about what life was like thousands of years ago by studying them.
