Oedipus

Oedipus is a character from a really old story called a Greek tragedy. Oedipus was a prince who was promised at birth to grow up and do terrible things. He was supposed to kill his dad and marry his mom without even realizing it! But don't worry, it's just a story, and it's not real.

When Oedipus grew up, he didn't know he was a prince or that he was supposed to do bad things. He left his home to try and avoid the prophecy, but when he arrived in a new land, he got into a fight with a stranger and ended up killing him. It turned out that the stranger was actually his dad! But Oedipus didn't know that.

Oedipus then solved a difficult riddle and became king of the land he was in. He married the queen, who was actually his mom! And once again, he didn't know that either. As time went on, Oedipus learned the truth about his past and realized what he had done. He was horrified, and the story ends in a very sad way.

The story of Oedipus is meant to teach us about fate and the consequences of actions. It's also a reminder that we should always be careful about the choices we make, and that sometimes the things we try to avoid can end up happening anyway. But don't worry, you don't have to worry about anything like that happening to you! It's just a story from a long time ago.
