Open Game Engine Exchange

Open Game Engine Exchange (OGEX) is just like how we share our toys with our friends. Imagine you have a lot of toys and your friend has a lot of toys too. Sometimes you both want to play with each other’s toys, but they may not always be the same. OGEX is like this - it helps different game engines share their toys, like characters, objects and environments with each other.

Now, what are game engines? Game engines are just like playgrounds, where different characters, objects, and environments can be placed to create a game. OGEX helps exchange these “toys” between playgrounds or game engines. This means if a game maker creates a character in one game engine, they can use OGEX to make sure that their character can be used in another game engine too.

Think of OGEX as a sharing tool that allows different game makers to easily exchange and use each other’s characters, objects, and environments. This is important because it saves game makers time and effort, as they don't have to re-create every character, object or environment they need from scratch every time they use a new game engine. OGEX makes it easier for game makers to create more and better games, while also making sure that their creations can be shared and enjoyed by others.
