ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Open admissions

Open admissions is like a big party where everyone is invited to join in. It means that a school or college is willing to accept students of all abilities, whether you are very smart or have some difficulties in learning. This is to make education accessible to as many people as possible.

It is like when you have a birthday party and invite all of your friends, no matter how good they are at sports or drawing. But just like with your party, there are some rules that everyone has to follow to make sure that everyone stays safe and happy. And at school, you need to follow some rules too, such as showing up to class on time and behaving well in class.

So, open admissions means that everyone has the chance to join in and learn, no matter who they are or how they learn. All you need to do is follow the rules and work hard, just like at a fun party!
