Opinion poll

An opinion poll is like asking a group of people what they like or dislike about something. You can think of it like when your teacher asks the class if they want to watch a movie or play a game. The teacher is trying to get an idea of what everyone likes or their opinions.

Opinion polls are like that but for bigger things like elections or the country's leaders. Lots of people are asked what they like or don't like, and the answers are used to get an idea of what the whole country might think.

The people who ask the questions are called pollsters, and they use special tools like questionnaires to collect answers. Then the pollsters take all the answers and add them up to see what most people think.

It's like guessing what everyone in your class likes to eat for lunch. You could ask each person and write their answers down, then see which food gets the most votes. Opinion polls work the same way but with bigger groups of people and more serious topics.
