Oral hygiene

Oral hygiene means taking care of our teeth and mouth to keep them healthy and clean. Just like we take baths and wash our hands, we also need to take care of our teeth and mouth.

To keep our teeth and mouth clean, we need to brush our teeth every day. We use a toothbrush and toothpaste with fluoride to scrub our teeth and clean them. We have to brush our teeth in circular motions, all around our teeth, and also our tongue to get rid of all the germs and bacteria.

We also have to floss every day. Flossing is like using a small brush but thinner, to clean the areas between our teeth. It's important to floss because sometimes our toothbrush can't reach these areas, and food can get stuck between our teeth, causing cavities.

We can also use mouthwash, which is like a special liquid that kills germs and bacteria. When we use mouthwash, we rinse our mouth for about 30 seconds, and then we spit it out.

Eating healthy foods is also important for our oral hygiene. We should avoid eating too many sugary foods or drinking sugary drinks because they can damage our teeth. We should eat more fruits, vegetables, and dairy products, like milk and cheese, because they help keep our teeth strong and healthy.

Finally, it's important to visit the dentist every six months so they can check our teeth and clean them. The dentist can also teach us more about how to take care of our teeth, and if we have any cavities, they can fix them before they get worse.

Taking care of our teeth and mouth is essential for our overall health and wellness, and it's never too early to start practicing good oral hygiene.
