Organic electronics

Organic electronics are just like the electronics you see every day, such as phones and computers, but they are made of special materials that are found in nature or can be made in a laboratory. These materials are called organic because they contain carbon, one of the building blocks of life.

For example, the material that holds the ink in a pen or marker is organic. When you write with a pen or marker, you are using organic electronics. The ink contains molecules that conduct electricity, just like the wires and circuits inside a device like a phone.

Scientists have discovered that these organic materials have some special properties that make them useful for making things like screens that can be bent, flexible solar panels that can be rolled up, and even medical devices that can be implanted in the body.

One of the cool things about organic electronics is that they are easier and cheaper to make than traditional electronics. They can also be made in different shapes and sizes, and can be printed onto a surface like paper. Imagine printing out a screen for your phone instead of having to buy one!
