Orléanists are people who believe that France should have a king, who should be a member of the family of the Orléans. The Orléans family is a branch of the French Royal Family that has its roots in the Middle Ages. King Louis-Phillipe of France was the last king to be a member of the Orléans family. He was king during the 1800s and he died in the 1850s. Since then, some French people have believed that the Orléans family should still be the rulers of France, and those people are called Orléanists.
