Orthopaedic physician's assistant

An Orthopaedic Physician's Assistant (PA) is like a doctor's helper. They work with orthopedic doctors (or orthopedists) to help care for patients who have problems with their bones and joints, like a broken arm or knee pain. The Orthopaedic PA helps the doctor examine patients, order tests, and give treatments and medicines. They might help a patient learn exercises to help their body heal, like stretches for a sore shoulder. The Orthopaedic PA also helps the orthopedic doctor with surgery and other medical procedures, and keep track of a patient's care over time.
