Oseberg style

Oseberg style is a type of Viking art that was used to decorate objects, like ships, weapons, and furniture. it was named after a famous Viking ship called the Oseberg ship, which was discovered in Norway in the early 20th century.

The Oseberg style is characterized by intricate, swirling patterns and designs, often with animals like snakes, birds, and dragons woven into the designs. These designs were typically carved or painted on objects made of wood, leather, or metal.

To make these designs, Viking artists used tools like chisels, hammers, and knives to carve intricate shapes and lines into the surface of the object. They would then fill these lines with colored pigments made from minerals and natural materials like clay and charcoal.

The Oseberg style was very popular among the Vikings, and it spread throughout the Nordic region and beyond. Today, it's still recognized as a beautiful and important form of Viking art, and many people study and appreciate it for its unique beauty and historical significance.
