Okay, so you know how we use letters like A, B, C, and D to write words and sentences? Well, a long time ago, the people in Turkey used different letters to write their language, which is called Ottoman Turkish.
The Ottoman Turkish alphabet had 32 letters. Each letter looked different and made a different sound when you said it out loud. Some of the letters were easy to recognize, like 'A' and 'B', but others looked pretty strange!
However, in 1928, the country of Turkey decided to change their alphabet. They thought it would be easier if they used the same letters that we use in English. So, they started using the Latin alphabet instead.
Now, people in Turkey use the same letters as we do to write their language. But, you can still find books and documents written in the old Ottoman Turkish alphabet if you look for them!
