ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Overengineering

Overengineering is when somebody makes something more complicated or fancy than it needs to be. Imagine you want to build a fort out of pillows and blankets. If someone adds a bunch of extra walls and towers, fancy decorations, and gadgets that you don't need, that's overengineering. It might look cool, but it makes things way more complicated and takes a lot more time and effort than it should. It's like trying to paint a tiny picture with a huge paintbrush. Sometimes, it's important to keep things simple and straightforward instead of making them too complicated.
