ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Overhead crane

An overhead crane is like a big robot with arms that helps move heavy things in a really big building. Just like how you might use your arms to pick up your toys and move them from one place to another, an overhead crane uses its arms to pick up super heavy things and move them around.

The crane is usually attached to rails on the ceiling so it can move side to side and up and down. Sometimes it even has wheels that help it move around. It has a big hook at the end of its arms that can grab onto things like big boxes or pieces of metal.

The crane is operated by someone who sits in a room and uses a special controller to move the crane around. They have to be really careful so they don't drop anything or run into anything else in the building.

Overall, an overhead crane is like a really big and strong helper that moves heavy and bulky things where they need to go.
