ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Padayatra

A padayatra is like a really long walk that people take. Imagine going on a walk with your family and friends, but instead of just walking around your neighborhood, you walk for days, weeks, or even months!

Padayatras are usually taken for religious or social purposes. People might walk to visit different temples or holy places, or to spread a message about an important issue like clean water or saving the environment.

During a padayatra, people might walk for many hours each day, stopping at different places to rest and eat. They might sleep in tents or under the stars, and carry their belongings with them in backpacks or carts.

Walking for such a long time can be hard on the body, so people usually wear comfortable shoes and take breaks often. But even though it can be tiring, padayatras can be a great way to see different parts of the world and meet new people!
