Pakistani wedding

Okay kiddo, so in Pakistan, when two people love each other very much and want to get married, they have a big party called a wedding.

First, the girl and boy's families meet to see if they like each other and if they want to get married. This is called an engagement.

Then, the wedding planning starts! The family of the boy usually pays for the wedding and they have to invite a lot of people - sometimes even hundreds!

The bride gets to wear a beautiful dress called a lehenga and the groom wears a suit or traditional clothes. They both look very fancy.

During the wedding, there are lots of traditions and ceremonies. For example, the mehndi ceremony where the bride gets a special design drawn on her hands with henna.

There is also the baraat - this is the big procession where the groom comes to the bride's house to take her away. He usually rides a horse or sits on a fancy decorated car.

Finally, there is the reception - this is where everyone comes together to eat lots of yummy food, dance and celebrate!
