Palm-leaf manuscript

A palm-leaf manuscript is like a very old book made from leaves. Do you remember when we drew on paper leaves and made a book? The palm-leaf manuscript is similar, but instead of paper, it is made of leaves from a special tree called the palm tree.

The text or writing is put on the leaves using a sharp tool, like a pen or a sharp rock. Once the writing is done, the leaves are dried in the sun or heated by fire to make them stiff and long-lasting.

These manuscripts were used to preserve and share knowledge, stories, and religious teachings. Before computers or modern books, people used palm-leaf manuscripts to share and store information.

Since palm-leaf manuscripts are very old and fragile, they're kept carefully in museums or special libraries so that people can see and learn from them.
