Paradummy

Okay, so imagine you are playing pretend with your friends and you want to make it look like there is a person standing there, but you don't actually have a person to stand there. That's where a paradummy comes in! It's kind of like a fake person that you put in a certain place to make it look like there is a real person there. People use paradummies for all sorts of things, like in the military to make it look like there are more soldiers than there really are, or in movies to make it look like someone is in danger without actually putting a real person in harm's way. It's just a way to make things look real without actually having to use a real person.
