ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Parallel curve

A parallel curve is like drawing a second line that follows the shape of the first line, but is always the same distance away from it. It's kind of like a buddy that always walks next to you, but stays the same distance apart no matter what.

Imagine you have a piece of paper with a wiggly line drawn on it. Now, take a ruler and put it next to the line. Move the ruler over so that it's the same distance away from the line all the way along. Then, trace along the edge of the ruler with a pen or pencil. You've now created a parallel curve to the initial wiggly line!

This can be useful for drawing things like roads or pathways that need to stay the same width or stay a certain distance away from other objects. It can also just be a fun way to make cool designs!
