ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Partial linear space

Okay kiddo, so imagine you have a big playground with lots of swings, slides, and things to play on.

Now, let's say you want to play on the swings, and your friend wants to play on the slide. But there are some things on the playground that both you and your friend want to play on, like the monkey bars.

That's kind of what a partial linear space is! It's like a playground with different "play things" or objects in it. Some of the objects can only be played with by one person (like the swings and slide), while other objects can be shared (like the monkey bars).

In a partial linear space, these "play things" are called points, and the groups of points that can be shared by more than one person are called lines. It's kind of like drawing lines between the points that can be shared between people.

So, a partial linear space is just a big playground with points and lines connecting them, where some points can only be used by one person and others can be shared. Simple, right?
