A partially guyed tower is like a really tall stick that stands up straight in the ground. But, because it is so tall, it needs some help to stay straight and not fall over. So, it has some special ropes called guy wires that are attached to the top of the stick and then stretched out to the ground around it. These guy wires pull on the stick from different angles to help it stay straight and strong. But, sometimes the stick is so tall and heavy that it needs even more help, so it has some guy wires that only go partway up the stick, and then it just stands by itself for the rest of the way up. This way, the stick is still supported and won't fall over even if it gets really windy.
