ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pass laws

Passing laws is like making rules for everyone to follow. Imagine you are playing with your friends and you all want to make sure you're having a fair game. You might say "Okay, no pushing or hitting!" This is a rule that everyone has to follow.

Laws work the same way, but they're rules for the entire country or state. For example, imagine your parents tell you that you have to eat your vegetables every day. This is a rule they made for you at home. In the same way, leaders in the government make rules for everyone to follow.

But laws aren't just made up on the spot. They have to be discussed, debated, and carefully thought out. This happens in special meetings called Congress or Parliament. Representatives from different areas come together to talk about what laws should be passed.

Once they agree on a new law, they write it down and vote on it. If enough people vote to pass the law, then it becomes a rule for everyone to follow.

This is important because it helps keep everyone safe and happy. It makes sure that people behave properly and don't hurt each other. It also helps keep things fair so that everyone has the same opportunities.
