Passage sailing record

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of passage sailing? It's when people go on a big adventure on a sailboat and travel from one place to another. Sometimes, people want to know how fast they can go on their sailboat, so they keep track of their time and distance. That's called a passage sailing record.

Basically, they use a stopwatch to time how long it takes them to sail from one place to another, and they measure how far they went. Then, they can calculate their average speed by dividing the distance by the time. This is important because it helps them plan future trips and see if they can break any records for sailing speed.

It's kind of like when you race your friends on your bikes and time yourselves to see who's fastest. But instead of bikes, it's a big sailboat and they're sailing across the vast ocean! Pretty cool, right?
