ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pastoral farming

Pastoral farming is when people keep and raise animals like cows, sheep, and goats. These animals are usually kept in large, open areas like fields and pastures where they can graze on the grass and plants.

Just like you need food to grow big and strong, animals also need food to grow and stay healthy. The grass and plants that they graze on provide them with the nutrients they need to stay healthy.

Farmers who do pastoral farming usually have a lot of land and they use it to make sure their animals have plenty of space to graze. They also make sure their animals have access to clean water and shelter, so they can stay safe and healthy during bad weather.

When the animals are ready, the farmers can sell them for their meat or use their wool and milk to make other products.

Overall, pastoral farming is a way of using the natural resources around us to raise animals that provide us with important things we need, like food and clothing.
