ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Animal–industrial complex

The animal-industrial complex is the idea that humans use animals in many industries such as agriculture, food production, medical research, clothing production, and entertainment. This means that animals are often treated like machines or resources instead of living creatures. Companies use animals for their products because it is less expensive for them than creating machines to do the same job. This can lead to the animals being mistreated, not given proper nutrition and sometimes even abused. It's important to remember that animals have feelings and deserve to be treated with respect, just like people do.
