ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pen (enclosure)

Okay kiddo, so a pen is basically a small area that is enclosed by some kind of fence or barrier. It's like a little playground for animals to roam around in, but they can't get out because there's a fence around it.

You know how we have a backyard at our house with a fence around it so that we don't accidentally run out into the street or get lost? That's kind of like a pen for us humans.

Pens can be used for lots of different animals, like cows, pigs, or even chickens. Farmers use pens to keep their animals safe and contained in a specific area so that they don't wander off or get hurt.

So, just like how we need our backyard fence to keep us safe, animals need a pen to keep them safe and secure too.
