People's history is a way of telling the stories and lessons of the past from the perspective of the people who actually lived it -- in other words, the people who were there and experienced it. People's history tells us the stories and experiences of people who may have been overlooked by traditional forms of historical retelling. It is also important in understanding how our past affects our present and future, and what we can learn from it. People's history is especially important in understanding the diversity of experiences in our societies and cultures and how events that happened long ago can still have an impact today.
