Persistent genital arousal disorder

Persistent genital arousal disorder (PGAD) is a condition where a person experiences spontaneous and frequent feelings of sexual arousal and/or genital stimulation, without any sexual thoughts or desire for sexual activity.

It mostly affects women but men can also suffer from it, and it can be both uncomfortable and embarrassing.

A person experiencing PGAD may feel like they are "turned on" all the time, even in situations that are not sexually stimulating. They may feel a constant need to release sexual tension through orgasms, which can be very exhausting physically and emotionally.

PGAD can also cause physical pain and discomfort, such as tingling, burning or swelling sensations in the genital area.

This condition can be caused by a variety of factors including nerves, hormones, injury, disease or medication. It is important to seek medical attention if you are experiencing PGAD because it can have a negative impact on a person's mental and emotional well-being.

There are different treatment options available for people with PGAD including medication, therapy and lifestyle changes. It is important to work with a healthcare provider to find the best treatment for your specific needs.
