Photogravure

Photogravure is an artistic printing technique used to create an image on paper or other material. It can be used to reproduce images from photographs, drawings, or etchings. The photogravure process starts with the creation of a copper plate that has an etched design. This design is then coated with a light-sensitive material that is exposed to light. After the light is exposed, the light-sensitive material will become darker in the places where the light shone through the design. The plate is then put into an acid bath that will etch away the areas where the light-sensitive material was exposed to the light, leaving an imprint of the design on the plate. The plate is then treated with ink, which will stick to the etched grooves of the plate, creating a picture. Finally, the plate is pressed against paper, creating a printed copy of the picture.
