Photoluminescence

Photoluminescence is like a special kind of light. It happens when something absorbs energy and then releases it in the form of colored light. When this happens, it's like a power switch being turned on - the object starts to glow! Different objects absorb different kinds of energy and release different colored lights. For example, some rocks can absorb energy from the sun and then release it as green light.
