A pig roast is when people cook a whole pig outdoors over a fire or in a special oven. The pig is cleaned, seasoned, and then put on a spit (a long stick) that is attached to a motor so it turns slowly over the heat. The pig takes several hours to cook and people have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't burn. Once the pig is cooked, the skin will be crispy and the meat will be juicy and flavorful. People will then cut the pig up and serve it to everyone at the party. It's like having a big barbecue, but instead of cooking burgers and hot dogs, you're cooking a whole pig!
