Pinkwashing (breast cancer)

Okay sweetie, have you heard about breast cancer before? It is a really bad disease that can happen to some people, especially to girls and women. It means that some cells in their breasts start to grow and multiply too much, which can make them very sick.

Now, some companies and organizations want to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer by using a lot of pink color. They put pink ribbons or pink labels on their products, and they say that part of the money they make will go towards finding a cure for breast cancer or helping people who have it.

But sometimes, these companies and organizations are not really doing what they promise. They just want to use the pink color and the breast cancer cause to sell more stuff and make more money. This is not nice, it's dishonest and misleading. This is called "pinkwashing."

So, when you see a lot of pink stuff and breast cancer symbols, it's important to know if the people who are using them really care about helping others, or if they just care about making money. You can ask questions, do some research and support those who have a good heart and a good intention to make the world a better place. Okay, little one?
