Planetary science is the study of planets and how they work. This includes things like planets in our Solar System (like Earth, Mercury, and Mars), and also things like asteroids and comets that orbit the Sun. Scientists who do planetary science use things like telescopes, satellites, and robots to get information about the planets and other objects. They look at things like the shape of the planet, what the planet is made of, and how the planet moves around the Sun. Planetary scientists also look for evidence of life outside of Earth, like other planets that could have living creatures like us.
