ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Plantlet

A plantlet is like a baby plant that grows out of the parent plant. Imagine the parent plant like a mommy or daddy plant, and the plantlet is like its little baby. Just like how a baby grows inside a mommy's belly, a plantlet grows on the parent plant.

Sometimes the plantlet grows from the stem of the parent plant, or sometimes it grows from the root. When the plantlet is big enough and strong enough, it can break away from the parent plant and grow on its own in a new place.

It's kind of like when a bird leaves its nest and goes out into the world to grow up on its own. The plantlet leaves the parent plant and becomes a new plant all by itself.

Plantlets are really cool because they can help plants spread and grow in new places, which is important for plant survival. Plus, they're cute little baby plants!
