Plasmon

Hello there! Do you know what light is? It's the stuff that lets us see things around us. Sometimes, when light hits something, it can make some of its little particles go wild and wiggle around. When this happens, we get something called a plasmon!

Think of it like a little dance party for the particles in something that's been hit by light. The party doesn't last forever though - eventually, the particles get tired and stop dancing.

Scientists study plasmons to learn more about the materials they happen in. They use special microscopes that let them see how much energy the plasmons have and how long they last. By understanding plasmons better, scientists can learn more about how materials work and find ways to make them better.

So, that's what a plasmon is - just some particles dancing around when they get hit by light!
