A Point of Interest (also called a POI) is a place or structure that people visit or that has an important purpose. Examples of Points of Interest include popular tourist sites, historical places, and places of cultural significance. For example, if you were to go on vacation, you may want to visit the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Taj Mahal in India, or the Statue of Liberty in New York City. As you wander around these places, you are visiting Points of Interest.
