Point-of-care testing

Point of care testing (POCT) is a way to get medical results very quickly. It helps doctors and other medical professionals make decisions about your health without having to wait for results from a lab. When you go to a doctor's office or health clinic and get a test, it could be a POCT. The doctor or medical professional will usually use a simple device that can quickly measure things like your blood sugar or how your heart is working. The results will be ready very quickly, which means the doctor can get back to you with the information they need to give you the best advice.
