Polish volunteers in the Spanish Civil War

Okay kiddo, so a long time ago in a country called Spain, there was a really big fight between different groups of people who wanted different things for their country. Some people wanted a king to rule, while others wanted everyone to have equal rights.

Now, some people from other countries wanted to help out the group that wanted everyone to have equal rights. A group of people from a country called Poland went to Spain to help out. These people were called volunteers because they weren't getting paid or forced to go there, they just wanted to help.

These Polish volunteers fought in the Spanish Civil War on the side of the group that wanted everyone to have equal rights. They worked really hard and even though they were just volunteers, they were really brave and made a big difference.

Some of these volunteers became famous and people still talk about them today. They wanted to help their friends in Spain so they went there and fought for what they believed in. That's what volunteers do, they help out because they want to make a difference.
