Politics of Mexico

Okay kiddo, so you know how we live in America and we have a president who makes decisions about our country? Well, in Mexico, they also have a person who is in charge of making important decisions, and they call him the President too! His name is Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, but people call him AMLO for short.

Now, Mexico has a lot of different people who live there, with different backgrounds and beliefs. Some people are rich, some people are poor, and some people are in the middle. And just like in America, people have different ideas about how their country should be run.

In Mexico, there are three main political parties that people can belong to: the National Action Party (PAN), the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), and the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD). Each party has different ideas about things like how to improve the economy, how to protect the environment, and how to make sure everyone has equal rights.

AMLO is part of a party called the National Regeneration Movement (MORENA) and he won the presidential election in 2018. He has some different ideas about things than the other parties, like wanting to focus more on helping poor people and fighting corruption.

There are also some big issues in Mexico that people are concerned about, like drug violence and immigration. Many people are unhappy with how the government is handling these issues, and hope that their leaders can come up with solutions to make things better.

So basically, just like in America, politics in Mexico is all about different parties and leaders trying to make their country the best it can be, while dealing with all the big problems that come up along the way.
