ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Polling agent

Okay kiddo, imagine you have a toy room with lots of toys. You want to keep track of which toys are your favorites and which ones you rarely play with. It's hard to remember all this by yourself and you might forget some of your favorite toys. So, you ask your mom or dad to help you keep track of this by creating a list of your favorite toys.

Similarly, a company might want to know what people think of their products or services. It's hard for them to ask every single person individually, so they hire someone to help them. This helper is called a "polling agent".

The polling agent goes out and talks to lots of different people, just like asking lots of different kids about their favorite toys. They ask people what they like or don't like about the company's products or services, and take notes on what people say.

Then, the polling agent goes back to the company and shares all the information they collected. Just like how you might show your toy list to your parents or friends to share what your favorite toys are.

This helps the company understand what people think about their products or services, so they can make improvements and be more successful. Just like how knowing your favorite toys help your parents or friends know how to make you happy and have more fun.
