Polygyny threshold model

Polygyny Threshold Model is a way of looking at relationships between males and females. In polygyny, one male has multiple female mates, and the polygyny threshold model is used to explain why this happens. The way it works is that the females have to have certain characteristics that make them attractive to the males, such as being larger or more colorful. The males then also need to be strong enough and have enough resources (like food and shelter) to provide for all the females. When these conditions are met, the male usually has multiple female partners.
