ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Polyhedron

Okay kiddo, let's talk about polyhedrons!

Polyhedrons are basically objects that have flat surfaces, like a cube or a pyramid. Think of them like a big ball made out of flat shapes stuck together.

Imagine you have a bunch of square cards and you stick them together by their edges. You can make a cube out of it. A cube is a type of polyhedron.

Now, there are different types of polyhedrons depending on the number and shape of their faces.

For example, a pyramid is a type of polyhedron that has one flat surface (called a base) and all the other surfaces slant up from the corners of the base to meet at a point on top.

There are also polyhedrons that have more complex shapes and angles, like a dodecahedron which has 12 flat, pentagon-shaped faces.

Polyhedrons can come in all shapes and sizes, and they're super cool to look at and play with. Pretty neat, huh?
