A polysomnographic technician is a special person who helps doctors figure out how people sleep. They hook patients up to a lot of wires and machines that help them listen to the heart, watch the brain, and check the breathing. It's kind of like taking a lot of pictures of the body while someone is sleeping. They also help the patient get comfortable and stay safe while they're sleeping. The technician then helps the doctor understand what they saw in the pictures to figure out how to make the patient sleep better.
