The pope also helps people around the world by giving them advice and guidance on how to be kind and help others. People who are Catholic look up to the pope and listen to what he says, kind of like how you might listen to your parents or teachers.

The pope is chosen by other leaders in the Church, who look for someone who is kind, smart, and really cares about making the world a better place. Once someone is chosen to be pope, they get to live in a cool palace in Rome and wear fancy clothes. But most importantly, they get to help lots of people and try to make the world a better, happier place.
