Portmahomack sculpture fragments
When people were living a really long time ago, they made special things out of rock called sculptures. In a place called Portmahomack in Scotland, there were some sculptures that were really old and important. But they got broken into little pieces over time and nobody knew what they used to look like.
One day, some people found the little broken pieces and started looking at them really closely. They noticed that some of the pieces had pictures on them, and they started putting the pieces back together like a puzzle. It was really hard work, but they did it!
Finally, they had put all the pieces back together and they found out that the sculptures were all part of a big story. They told a story about a man named Jonah who was swallowed by a big fish.
The people who found the sculptures were really happy because they had learned something new about what people used to do a long, long time ago. And now, other people can go see the sculptures and learn about Jonah's story too!
