ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Post growth

Okay kiddo, so do you know what growth means? It means getting bigger or adding more. And when we talk about post growth, it means that people and society are thinking about other ways to be happy and successful instead of just trying to grow and get bigger all the time.

You see, sometimes when we always try to make more and more money or have bigger houses and fancier things, it can actually make us feel kind of empty inside. That's why some people are trying to think of other ways to be happy that don't involve just getting bigger all the time.

Some ways people are trying to be happy without just growing bigger are by being more environmentally friendly, taking care of each other, and sharing resources. It's kind of like if you have a big toy and all your friends want to play with it too - you can all take turns playing with it so everyone gets a turn, instead of just keeping it all to yourself.

So post growth means that people are thinking of ways to be happy and successful without just trying to be biggest and best all the time. Does that make sense, kiddo?
