ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Posthegemony

Posthegemony is a big word that means a new way of understanding power and control in society. It's kind of like when you play a game with your friends and one friend is the boss, but then you decide to play a different game where everyone takes turns being in charge. In posthegemony, no one person or group is always in charge - instead, power is constantly shifting and changing between lots of different people and ideas.

Imagine if you were playing the game of schoolyard tag, but instead of one person always being "it," you all took turns chasing each other. That's kind of like posthegemony - instead of one group, like the government or the rich people or the media, always telling everyone else what to do, everyone has a chance to have a say and to be listened to.

Posthegemony is kind of a fancy way of saying that we can all work together to make decisions and to make the world a better place, instead of just letting a few people tell us what to do. It's like we all have a voice, and together we can use that voice to make a big difference!
