Pourquoi story

A pourquoi story is a type of story from long ago that explains why something is the way it is. For example, why do giraffes have such a long neck? According to a pourquoi story, when the first giraffe was born, it had a short neck and couldn’t reach the leaves high up in the trees. So, it stretched and stretched until its neck became longer and longer. That's why we have giraffes with long necks today!
