Pozzolanic activity

Have you ever played with clay? Pozzolanic activity is like playing with clay - we use it to make concrete stronger and more durable.

When we make concrete, we mix cement, water, and other materials like sand and gravel. But sometimes, we add something special called a pozzolan, which is kind of like the clay we play with. This pozzolan reacts with the cement in the mixture and makes the concrete stronger.

But not all pozzolans are the same. Some are more effective than others. It depends on things like how finely the pozzolan is ground and what kind of minerals it has.

So, when we say a pozzolan has a high pozzolanic activity, it means it's really good at reacting with cement and making the concrete stronger. And that's important because it helps the concrete last longer and stand up to things like weather and wear and tear.
