ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Prefabrication

Prefabrication is like building with big Lego blocks. Instead of building a house or a building on-site (where it's going to be built), we build it somewhere else and then bring it to the site in big pieces.

Think of it like when you build a toy house or a big car out of Lego blocks. You can build it piece by piece and then put it all together at the end. That's what prefabrication is like.

The pieces that we build in a factory are big parts of the house or building. They might be walls, floors, or even whole rooms. Once we finish making these big pieces, we can then load them onto a truck and take them to the location where the building is going to be put up.

This means that we can build things more quickly and efficiently. We don't have to worry about bad weather or slower work because the factory is indoors, and the workers can work faster and more efficiently because they have all the tools and materials they need right there.

So, prefabrication is a great way to build things fast and efficiently. It's like building with big Lego blocks and then putting all the pieces together at the end in order to make a house or a building.
